The Arcade

The Arcade is where our group of friends plays classic video games together. It is one section of Movie Theater, a personal, non-commercial media site we run for ourselves. The rest of the site tracks movies, TV, board games and music.

You pick a game from the lobby and it runs on our home game server. Video and sound stream to your browser and your controller input goes back, so you can play a 30-year-old console game on a phone or laptop without installing anything. Friends can join the same game from their own homes and play together as if they were on one couch.

Who can use it

The Arcade is for members of our group. They sign in on the main site, and it gives their browser short-lived access to start or join a game. This address carries those game sessions, so this page is the only part of it a visitor without a session can see. There is nothing for sale, no ads and no sign-up.
